Industrial Reflection Probe for Powders & Thick Fluids

The FCR-7xx200-2-45-IND is a heavy-duty reflection probe with exchangeable tip to get spectral information of powders or thick fluids.

The probe end is simply dipped into the powder or liquid to make the measurement.

Via a standard SMA905 connector, light is coupled into a fibre bundle, consisting of 6 fibres and carried to the probe end where it lights up the material to be analysed through a silica window under 45° degrees. This angle is necessary to avoid direct reflections from the window. The powder or fluid will selectively reflect light back into the 7th fibre. This fibre transfers the data to the output SMA905 connector, which can be coupled to a spectrometer or a spectral analyser.

7 fibres of 200µm core, 6 light fibres, 1 read fibre. N.A. = 0.22. Standard length 2m, splitting point in the middle

Probe end

Stainless Steel cylinder, 128mm long x 12.7mm (1/2”) diameter. The probe end contains a ca. 10x1mm sapphire window. The probe tip is exchangeable and waterproof.

Tubing

The optical fibres are protected by a Silicon inner tube and chrome plated brass outer tubing. This tubing also provides stress relief. OD=5mm. As an additional option, a waterproof, steel reinforced silicon tubing can be provided.

Temperature

-30°C - 100°C (high temperature versions on request)

Bending

Minimum bend radius: Short term (few seconds) 20mm, long term: 60mm
