External Trigger Box

The AvaTrigger is a trigger source that can be easily attached to any AvaSpec spectrometer in the product line.

The AvaTrigger has 3 different settings for external triggering, i.e. an optical trigger, a TTL trigger from an external source and a pushbutton trigger.

The optical trigger is useful to measure pulsed light sources, the AvaSpec can start integration time within microseconds after the optical signal starts.

The optical trigger has an SMA905 connector to easily couple to our comprehensive line of light sources and accessories through SMA coupled fibre optics.

An additional feature of the AvaTrigger in combination with the AvaSpec-USB1 platform is that it automatically generates multiple triggers when the software settings are set to do so, for example for multiple averages. Also implemented is a feedback control loop that makes sure the total amount of spectra taken equals the number of averages set in the software. Internal timing is coordinated through the digital IO of the AvaTrigger and AvaSpec-USB1 platform spectrometer.

The AvaTrigger-USB1 comes with a IC-DB15-2 interface cable and needs no external power supply.

For the AvaSpec-USB2 platform, the feedback control for multiple hardware trigger is obsolete, since this option is as standard integrated into the AvaSpec-USB2 platform spectrometers. The AvaTrigger-USB2 is supplied with an IC-DB26-2 interface cable.
