For some medical and semiconductor applications, a very small tip is desirable to make reflectance measurements.

 

We offer two standard diameters of small tip reflection probes - 1.5mm and 2.5mm in diameter - and each tip is typically 100mm long (custom lengths and diameters available).

 

The probe works in exactly the same way as our standard reflection probes and is also configured with an illumination leg with six 200μm fibres which connects to a fibre optic light source and a single 200μm read fibre which measures the reflection via connection to the spectrometer.

A special angled fibre holder (AFH-15) is available for the 1.5mm diameter reflection probe. This device enables reflection measurements under angles of 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 degrees.
